I Whistle A Happy Tune

I Whistle A Happy Tune Karaoke

Responding to Steady Beat-Movement and Playing Instruments

Softly tap a nice, even, steady beat to keep the tickling feeling going in the poems.

Toaster Time
Tick tick tick tick tick tick tick
Toast up a sandwich quick quick quick
Hamwich or jamwich
Lick lick lick!

Tick tick tick tick tick tick--Stop!

POP!

Kitchen Tunes
Our kitchen is a noisy place.
It's full of merry sound.
The pans make music on the stove
When mother is around.

The carrots stew with "Burble! Bup."
The meat fires, "Crackle! Pop!"
The oven creaks while cooling off.
The corn bread sighs on top.

Sometimes my mom stirs up a cake
And beats time with the spoon,
And then the kettle whistles loud
To keep them all in tune.

Crayons
I’ve colored a picture
with crayons.
I’m not very pleased
with the sun.
I’d like it much stronger and brighter
And more like the actual one.
I’ve tried with the crayon that’s yellow.
I’ve tried with the crayon that’s red.
But none of it looks like the sunlight
I carry around in my head.
